Swallows and Amazons

A FILM BY Claude Whatham

Synopsis

Set in 1929, and based upon Arthur Ransome's immortal children's novel, "Swallows and Amazons" is the story of a group of children who man two sailing dinghies, 'Swallow' and 'Amazon', and plan mock 'sea-battles' in the Lake District. During the summer days, the children allow their imaginations to run wild, until a real drama happens. The Amazon's Uncle Jim has his houseboat burgled and his cabin-trunk stolen, and immediately suspects the Swallows. They must locate the stolen trunk and return it to Uncle Jim before he decides to take action ...
