Synopsis
Adapted from Margaret Drabble's celebrated novel "The Millstone", this is the story of Rosamund, a postgraduate student who discovers that she is pregnant after her first sexual encounter. She is determined to keep the baby, and has no wish to involve the father in her predicament. But it is only when her baby daughter is taken ill and has to have a heart operation that she realizes that the child is the only important thing in her life.
