Synopsis

Ethan Hawke and Kristin Scott Thomas star in THE WOMAN IN THE FIFTH, a psychological thriller, based on Douglas Kennedy's 2007 novel of the same name. American writer Tom Ricks (Hawke) comes to Paris,desperate to win back the love of his estranged wife and daughter. When things don’t go according to plan, Tom ends up living in a shady hotel and working as a night guard to make ends meet. Then a beautiful, mysterious stranger (Scott Thomas) walks into his life. Things start looking up. But their passionate relationship triggers a series of inexplicable events - as if an obscure power were taking control of his life. The film is written and directed by Polish-born, UK-based Pawel Pawlikowski, whose credits include the BAFTA award-winning features LAST RESORT and MY SUMMER OF LOVE.
